Survive and Serve!

This summer we are embarking in the first annual Survive and Serve Competition with rising 8th and 9th graders at the Kids on Point Summer Camp. In this competition, different student groups pick a vulnerable population in Charleston and plan a project that will directly impact that group. These amazing students decided their three populations would be the Elderly at a nursing home, children in the foster care system, and children at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. They have researched, planned, made phone calls, created budgets, and will shortly be presenting on their progress.

At the end of the competition, the winning teams will be able to hold their service project! We will be working closely with Charleston groups and community partners to pull this off and we are so excited to see these students in action making a meaningful impact on their communities!
